Government of Canada selects CloseReach Ltd., QualiWare Inc., and QualiWare
Lifecycle Manager Software to provide Enterprise Architecture Software
Solution
Through a bid developed by QualiWare and CloseReach and submitted by
CloseReach Ltd., a QualiWare Strategic Channel Partner in Canada, QualiWare
Software has been selected as the delivery platform for the Department of
National Defence’s Enterprise Architecture Software Solution (EASS). EASS
will be used by the Department of National Defence / Canadian Forces (DND/CF)
to deliver, enable and support the process of planning, developing,
implementing, and maintaining Information Management (IM), Information
Technology and Information Intelligence capabilities throughout DND/CF.
DND/CF
projects have requirements to model components of the enterprise
architecture in order to support the design and implementation of planned
information systems. QualiWare Lifecycle Manager software and its
integrated architecture repository will deliver, enable and support
architecture development, management of architecture data, analysis of
architecture data, and transformation of architecture data into architecture
products and other decision support reports.
It is
intended that the common EASS, supported by an integrated DND/CF
Architecture Framework (DNDAF), will be used by DND and CF architecture
projects and initiatives under the guidance of a lead architect and a strong
EA governance process to facilitate a common implementation, understanding,
and sharing of relevant architectural information. QualiWare is a
comprehensive modeling solution that provides and facilitates the modeling
and integration of business and Information Technology (IT) at the
enterprise level. The purpose of enterprise and IT visibility modeling is to
support and respond to the current (as-is) architecture and the target
(to-be) architecture needs, which support planners, decision makers,
managers, designers and engineers to envision the enterprise roadmap and
supporting transition plan. At any given time, DND/CF has over 400 active
projects and initiatives in various stages of development.
The
contract award includes software, training and professional services over a
5 year period (initial one year contract with 4 one year option periods).
Contract value is expected to be between $1M-$2M if all options are
exercised.
Department of National Defence is the third major Government of Canada
department to acquire QualiWare software. QualiWare Lifecycle Manager is
also used by Canada Border Services Agency and Citizenship and Immigration
Canada.
